My name is Diane Marie Schimmel. Welcome to my Webpage. My
journey through Wayne State University has been fruitful. I have had some great experiences the last
several years. The people I have met
are supportive helpful and we are all aiming toward the same goal. Education is one of the most important
things you can do for yourself. I
graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Organizational
Communications and a minor in Philosophy.
I worked in corporate for two years before deciding to go back to school
and become an educator. Those two years
were fun and exciting. I worked at the
Palace of Auburn Hills. I was an
assistant to the Head Coach of the Detroit Shock. I had fun
working with the players of the WNBA. I
switched over to the Detroit Pistons for one season and worked behind the scenes for a major
sports team. These two experiences
taught me a lot about myself. I had
opportunities to work with children’s group.
I helped out with clinics and raised health awareness. I debated if I wanted to return to school
and ultimately decided to go for it.
This was the best decision I have ever made. I want to teach and Wayne State is giving me the opportunity to
achieve one of my dreams.
